Energy shares gain

Energy stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Energy index rising 74.43 points or 1.58% at 4797.3 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Adani Gas Ltd (up 2.9%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 2.33%),Aban Offshore Ltd (up 1.98%),Deep Industries Ltd (up 1.59%),Castrol India Ltd (up 0.83%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.61%), Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.6%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.28%), Oil India Ltd (up 0.24%), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.08%).

On the other hand, Goa Carbon Ltd (down 4.99%), Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (down 2.48%), and Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (down 1.09%) moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 144.76 or 0.38% at 38033.19.

The Nifty 50 index was down 43.05 points or 0.38% at 11270.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 5.87 points or 0.05% at 12790.6.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 18.78 points or 0.43% at 4330.6.

On BSE,595 shares were trading in green, 707 were trading in red and 69 were unchanged.
