Telecom shares fall

Telecom stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 10.19 points or 0.91% at 1109.83 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 4.59%), GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 2.38%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 1.19%), and Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (down 0.42%), were the top losers.

On the other hand, Tejas Networks Ltd (up 6.41%), Reliance Communications Ltd (up 4.82%), and Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 3.84%) moved up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 156.67 or 0.38% at 41304.59.

The Nifty 50 index was down 39.45 points or 0.32% at 12175.1.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 55.7 points or 0.42% at 13440.03.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 4.94 points or 0.11% at 4701.2.

On BSE,1294 shares were trading in green, 1028 were trading in red and 161 were unchanged.
