Hang Seng gains after strong U.S. lead

Hong Kong equity market finished the session sharply higher on Thursday, 09 October 2014, on tracking a strong rebound on Wall Street overnight on the back of reassuring pledges by U.S. Federal Open Market Committee policy makers to keep interest rates near zero. The benchmark Hang Seng Index advanced 271.20 points, or 1.17% to close at 23534.53.
