Hong Kong share market closed lower in volatile trade on Monday, 30 June 2014, ahead of a holiday when pro-democracy demonstrations are planned. The benchmark Hang Seng Index closed 30.80 points down to 23190.72 after rising intraday high of 23346.23. Trading turnover increased to HK$53.37 billion from yesterday's HK$48.28 billion. Hong Kong's markets are shut tomorrow for the anniversary of the city's return to Chinese rule in 1997.
