Oil and Gas shares rise
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index rising 170.97 points or 1.12% at 15403.71 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Reliance Industries Ltd (up 3.51%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 3.05%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.78%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.44%),Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.31%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.19%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.15%).
On the other hand, GAIL (India) Ltd (down 0.88%), Castrol India Ltd (down 0.65%), and Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 0.59%) moved lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 178.37 or 0.44% at 40648.07.
The Nifty 50 index was up 37.85 points or 0.32% at 11977.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 17.62 points or 0.13% at 13422.13.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 7.14 points or 0.15% at 4695.79.
On BSE,788 shares were trading in green, 647 were trading in red and 64 were unchanged.
