Oil and Gas shares rise

Oil and Gas stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index rising 194.46 points or 1.43% at 13831.09 at 09:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Reliance Industries Ltd (up 2.09%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 1.97%),Petronet LNG Ltd (up 1.79%),Castrol India Ltd (up 1.73%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.62%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.61%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 1.37%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.87%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.82%).

On the other hand, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 0.56%), moved lower.

 

At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 439.37 or 1.1% at 40311.68.

The Nifty 50 index was up 121.1 points or 1.03% at 11829.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 137.65 points or 0.96% at 14497.65.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 26.06 points or 0.52% at 5003.52.

On BSE,1131 shares were trading in green, 379 were trading in red and 63 were unchanged.
