Capital Goods stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Capital Goods index rising 215.36 points or 1.29% at 16849.11 at 09:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Honeywell Automation India Ltd (up 11.93%), Bharat Electronics Ltd (up 3.83%),Grindwell Norton Ltd (up 3.09%),Graphite India Ltd (up 2.01%),HEG Ltd (up 1.99%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Havells India Ltd (up 1.8%), Thermax Ltd (up 1.72%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 1.6%), AIA Engineering Ltd (up 1.58%), and Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd (up 1.49%).
On the other hand, Schaeffler India Ltd (down 0.38%), moved lower.
At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 439.37 or 1.1% at 40311.68.
The Nifty 50 index was up 121.1 points or 1.03% at 11829.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 137.65 points or 0.96% at 14497.65.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 26.06 points or 0.52% at 5003.52.
On BSE,1131 shares were trading in green, 379 were trading in red and 63 were unchanged.
