Power shares fall

Power stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 37.1 points or 1.92% at 1897.16 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 4.58%), NHPC Ltd (down 3.95%),K E C International Ltd (down 3.19%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 2.84%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 1.99%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Torrent Power Ltd (down 1.53%), Adani Power Ltd (down 1.44%), CESC Ltd (down 0.72%), NTPC Ltd (down 0.53%), and Siemens Ltd (down 0.25%).

On the other hand, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 2.19%), and Adani Transmission Ltd (up 0.67%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 8.17 or 0.02% at 40905.65.

The Nifty 50 index was down 16.35 points or 0.14% at 12019.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 6.04 points or 0.04% at 14710.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 3.23 points or 0.06% at 5047.74.

On BSE,923 shares were trading in green, 1305 were trading in red and 139 were unchanged.
