Power stocks slide

Power stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Power index decreasing 21.9 points or 1.11% at 1952.99 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Transmission Ltd (down 1.86%), NTPC Ltd (down 1.44%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.23%),Siemens Ltd (down 1.14%),CESC Ltd (down 1.09%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 0.99%), Adani Power Ltd (down 0.7%), Thermax Ltd (down 0.58%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.34%), and NHPC Ltd (down 0.21%).

On the other hand, K E C International Ltd (up 0.42%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 0.3%), and Torrent Power Ltd (up 0.19%) turned up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 180.12 or 0.43% at 41446.52.

The Nifty 50 index was down 57.15 points or 0.47% at 12225.05.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 44.05 points or 0.31% at 14028.81.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 9.42 points or 0.19% at 4839.33.

On BSE,1227 shares were trading in green, 1141 were trading in red and 178 were unchanged.
