Power shares rise

Power stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Power index rising 8.65 points or 0.46% at 1902.02 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Transmission Ltd (up 4.38%), Adani Power Ltd (up 2.68%),Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.16%),Siemens Ltd (up 0.67%),NTPC Ltd (up 0.57%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Tata Power Company Ltd (up 0.54%), Thermax Ltd (up 0.43%), JSW Energy Ltd (up 0.2%), and ABB India Ltd (up 0.01%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.98%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 1.4%), and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 0.8%) moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 61.94 or 0.15% at 40737.39.

The Nifty 50 index was up 4.35 points or 0.04% at 11998.55.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 18.38 points or 0.14% at 13427.3.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 20.85 points or 0.44% at 4719.4.

On BSE,715 shares were trading in green, 689 were trading in red and 98 were unchanged.
