Power shares gain

Power stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Power index rising 15.63 points or 0.95% at 1659.57 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 4.05%), Adani Power Ltd (up 3.44%),NHPC Ltd (up 3.23%),Adani Transmission Ltd (up 2.94%),Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 1.76%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 1.46%), NTPC Ltd (up 1.07%), K E C International Ltd (up 0.31%), and Torrent Power Ltd (up 0.11%).

On the other hand, Thermax Ltd (down 1.65%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 1.64%), and CESC Ltd (down 1.33%) moved lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 60.61 or 0.17% at 35695.56.

The Nifty 50 index was up 8.9 points or 0.09% at 10460.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 38.77 points or 0.3% at 12809.32.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 3.58 points or 0.08% at 4434.64.

On BSE,924 shares were trading in green, 683 were trading in red and 87 were unchanged.
