Power shares fall

Power stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 32.82 points or 1.71% at 1886.66 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 4.15%), NHPC Ltd (down 3.88%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 3.36%),Thermax Ltd (down 3.02%),Adani Power Ltd (down 2.38%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NTPC Ltd (down 2.07%), Siemens Ltd (down 1.95%), CESC Ltd (down 1.46%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.29%), and Torrent Power Ltd (down 0.93%).

On the other hand, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 2.65%), K E C International Ltd (up 1.11%), and Adani Transmission Ltd (up 0.77%) moved up.

 

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 240.71 or 0.59% at 40901.14.

The Nifty 50 index was down 90.75 points or 0.75% at 12007.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 51.3 points or 0.35% at 14789.03.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 39.02 points or 0.76% at 5108.7.

On BSE,940 shares were trading in green, 1395 were trading in red and 174 were unchanged.
