Power stocks rise

Power stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Power index increasing 39.7 points or 2.14% at 1894.44 at 09:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, NTPC Ltd (up 4.65%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (up 3.1%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 1.68%),Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.31%),Thermax Ltd (up 1.08%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were K E C International Ltd (up 0.82%), Adani Power Ltd (up 0.8%), Adani Transmission Ltd (up 0.53%), ABB India Ltd (up 0.26%), and Siemens Ltd (up 0.25%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.81%), and Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 0.33%) turned lower.

 

At 09:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 61.62 or 0.17% at 36786.36.

The Nifty 50 index was up 31.2 points or 0.29% at 10875.85.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 48.67 points or 0.39% at 12454.59.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 7.5 points or 0.18% at 4200.09.

On BSE,851 shares were trading in green, 379 were trading in red and 53 were unchanged.
