Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index declines 1.67%

Nifty Auto index ended down 1.67% at 12423.7 today. The index is up 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd slipped 3.83%, Balkrishna Industries Ltd jumped 3.42% and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd dropped 2.37%. The Nifty Auto index is up 22.00% over last one year compared to the 4.89% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index added 1.46% and Nifty Pharma index has slid 1.02% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.53% to close at 16631 while the SENSEX is down 0.55% to close at 55766.22 today.
