Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 2.75%

Nifty Media index closed up 2.75% at 2139.5 today. The index has gained 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd added 19.72%, TV18 Broadcast Ltd rose 7.46% and Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd jumped 5.44%. The Nifty Media index has soared 30.00% over last one year compared to the 1.98% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index gained 1.67% and Nifty Private Bank index gained 1.12% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.72% to close at 17665.8 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.75% to close at 59245.98 today.
