Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index registers a drop of 2.23%

Nifty Media index closed down 2.23% at 1760.5 today. The index has lost 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd fell 5.49%, Dish TV India Ltd slipped 3.42% and Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd shed 1.78%. The Nifty Media index has decreased 29.00% over last one year compared to the 14.56% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index has slid 2.03% and Nifty IT index added 1.44% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.45% to close at 12226.65 while the SENSEX has declined 0.39% to close at 41464.61 today.
