Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 1.22%

Nifty Metal index ended down 1.22% at 4834.05 today. The index is down 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, NMDC Ltd slipped 5.32%, Welspun Corp Ltd fell 3.71% and APL Apollo Tubes Ltd dropped 3.33%. The Nifty Metal index is down 8.00% over last one year compared to the 2.33% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index is down 1.18% and Nifty IT index has slid 1.16% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.97% to close at 16058.3 while the SENSEX is down 0.94% to close at 53886.61 today.
