Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index registers a drop of 9.08%, NIFTY Crashes 7.61%

Nifty Metal index closed down 9.08% at 1730.6 today. The index has lost 34.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, JSW Steel Ltd fell 13.45%, Tata Steel Ltd slipped 11.36% and Vedanta Ltd shed 10.95%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 42.00% over last one year compared to the 19.51% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index has slid 8.61% and Nifty Realty index has slid 8.35% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 7.61% to close at 9197.4 while the SENSEX has declined 7.96% to close at 31390.07 today.
