Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 1.12%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 1.12% at 3177.55 today. The index has added 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of Baroda jumped 2.50%, State Bank of India added 2.21% and Allahabad Bank slipped 1.92%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 14.00% over last one year compared to the 6.17% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index has slid 1.02% and Nifty PSE index has dropped 0.85% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.21% to close at 11687.5 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.22% to close at 39215.64 today.
