Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The April 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7,566.50, a premium of 20.05 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7,546.45 in the cash market. The Nifty May 2016 futures traded at 7,603.35, a premium of 56.90 points compared with the spot closing for the index.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 2.22 lakh crore, which was higher than turnover of Rs 1.79 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty shed 67.90 points or 0.89% to settle at 7,546.45, its lowest closing level since 17 March 2016.
Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Bharat Heavy Electricals (Bhel), State Bank of India (SBI), and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. Tata Steel April 2016 futures traded at 325.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 324.60. Tata Motors April 2016 futures traded at 375.80, at a premium compared with spot closing of 375.20. Bhel April 2016 futures traded at 118.70, at a premium compared with spot closing of 118.40.

The April 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 April 2016. The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
