Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises
The April 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7,613.30, a modest premium of 10.10 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7,603.20 in the cash market. The Nifty May 2016 futures traded at 7,646.10, a premium of 42.90 points compared with the spot closing for the index.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 2.83 lakh crore, which was higher than turnover of Rs 1.3 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty skidded 155.60 points or 2.01% to settle at 7,603.20, its lowest closing level since 29 March 2016.
State Bank of India (SBI), Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank and Tata Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. SBI April 2016 futures traded at 183.30, at a discount compared with spot closing of 183.75. Axis Bank April 2016 futures traded at 432, at a premium compared with spot closing of 431.30. ICICI Bank April 2016 futures traded at 225.30, at a discount compared with spot closing of 225.90.

The April 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 April 2016. The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
