Turnover spurts in NSE F&O segment

IndusInd Bank, SBI and Tata Global Beverage were the top traded stock

The Nifty January 2020 were at 12,374.50, a premium of 31.2 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 12,343.3 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index dropped 19 points or 0.15% to 12,343.3.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's & options (F&O) segment was Rs 13.81 lakh crore compared with Rs 10.44 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 1.16% to 14.075.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 30 January 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 27.88 lakh contracts at the 12,500 strike price. Maximum put OI of 42.11 lakh contracts was seen at 12,000 strike price.

The option chain indicates that Nifty will hover between 12,000 and 12,500 in the January 2020 series.

IndusInd Bank, SBI and Tata Global Beverage were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE for January expiry.

IndusInd Bank January 2020 futures were at 1,406, compared with spot closing price of 1399. SBI January 2020 futures were at 325.7, compared with spot closing price of 324. Tata Global Beverage January 2020 futures were at 391.4, compared with spot closing price of 390.60.
