Utilties shares gain

Utilties stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Utilities index rising 16.5 points or 0.93% at 1799.32 at 09:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, RattanIndia Infrastructure Ltd (up 10.69%), KSK Energy Ventures Ltd (up 10.53%),Rattanindia Power Ltd (up 6.09%),GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.27%),Adani Power Ltd (up 2.71%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (up 2.45%), NTPC Ltd (up 1.74%), BF Utilities Ltd (up 1.45%), PTC India Ltd (up 1.4%), and GE T&D India Ltd (up 1.32%).

On the other hand, Reliance Power Ltd (down 4.32%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 1.21%), and Mahanagar Gas Ltd (down 0.72%) moved lower.

 

At 09:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 154.16 or 0.42% at 36798.58.

The Nifty 50 index was up 42.1 points or 0.39% at 10890.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 45.69 points or 0.37% at 12541.54.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 12.2 points or 0.29% at 4218.88.

On BSE,925 shares were trading in green, 429 were trading in red and 64 were unchanged.
