Utilties shares slide

Utilties stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Utilities index falling 10.47 points or 0.59% at 1765.03 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 2.38%), GE T&D India Ltd (down 2.32%),GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.82%),Va Tech Wabag Ltd (down 1.72%),Indian Energy Exchange Ltd (down 1.05%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were JSW Energy Ltd (down 0.89%), Mahanagar Gas Ltd (down 0.66%), Adani Power Ltd (down 0.65%), NTPC Ltd (down 0.52%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.42%).

On the other hand, Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (up 6.65%), BF Utilities Ltd (up 5%), and Reliance Power Ltd (up 4.99%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 112.66 or 0.28% at 40962.95.

The Nifty 50 index was up 30.7 points or 0.25% at 12073.9.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 20.02 points or 0.15% at 13472.81.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 3.3 points or 0.07% at 4732.36.

On BSE,1101 shares were trading in green, 1180 were trading in red and 185 were unchanged.
