At least 18 people were killed in an accident on Nigeria's Bauchi-Jos highway, police said.
The accident occurred on Sunday after a DAF Truck and a Toyota Hiace bus carrying 18 passengers collided, Mohammed Haruna, the northeast Bauchi state police spokesman, said.
Nigeria records high fatality rates for road accidents mainly due to shoddy highways, poorly maintained vehicles and violation of traffic rules by inept drivers, Xinhua news agency reported.
