At least 40 militants were killed on Monday when security forces repelled an attack by the Islamic State (IS) terror group in Iraq's Anbar province.
The incident occurred when the IS militants attacked a military base in Hamdhiyah area, but were repelled by the troops and air strikes, an official told Xinhua news agency.
Ten security personnel were injured, the official added.
