95-year-old inmate dies in Gurgaon jail

A 95-year-old man convicted for causing a dowry death died in the Bhondsi jail here on Thursday in mysterious circumstances, police said.

Amichand died after complaining that he was having problems discharging urine.

A resident of Gurgaon's Shanti Park, he was in jail from April 16 with his son Harish after being convicted for the death of his daughter-in-law.

The viscera of the deceased has been sent to a forensic science laboratory. "The exact cause of death will be ascertained after we get the viscera report," said a doctor.
