State-run Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Wednesday declared an interim dividend of Rs 560 crore for the year 2016-17.
"AAI has earned a revenue of Rs 10,824 crore (previous year - Rs 9,285 crore), profit before tax of Rs 3,697 crore (previous year Rs 2,791 crore) and the profit after tax of Rs 2,537 crore (previous year Rs 1,959 crore) for the year 2015-16," AAI said in a statement.
According to the state-run authority, during the last three years (2013-14 to 2015-16)it has spent Rs 4,315 crore on modernisation of airport terminals, passenger facilities and air traffic and navigational aids at its airports, and has planned to spend Rs 1,974 crore this year.
"AAI has paid Rs 1,106 crore as dividend in the last three years (2013-14 - 2015-16) and has also contributed to the central exchequer Rs 6,253 crore in different forms during the same period, apart from paying dividend," the statement added.
