Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday greeted the people of the state on the eve of 69th Independence Day.
In a message issued by his office, the chief minister said this national festival reminded everyone of the great sacrifices of martyrs and freedom fighters.
Besides, he added: "The day also provides us with an opportunity to introspect and recommit ourselves to the dreams and aspirations of the great freedom fighters."
Yadav also appealed to the people of the state to express their gratitude to the martyrs and the freedom fighters and work for the progress and welfare of the nation with the best ability.
