Bengal woman found living with father's corpse

A tribal woman in West Bengal's Burdwan district was found living with the decomposed body of her father, police said on Sunday.

This came to light in Mukhtarpaar in the Burdwan district on Saturday when the stench coming out of the house caused the locals to suspect foul play and approach the police.

Police, who subsequently disposed of the body, said it was kept in keeping with a tribal practice.

"Inside the house, we found the decomposed body of Panchu Soren, who must have died at least 4-5 days back," said a police officer.

Earlier in June 2015, a Kolkata man was found living with the skeletons of his sister and two dogs for months.
