A Chinese company is all set to build a fertiliser factory in Jordan, following an MoU signed between Jordan Phosphate Mines Co. and China's Chongqing Minmetal and Machinery Import and Export Co. Ltd., state media reported Monday.
The development of the factory will initially cost 350 million dollars. It will focus on producing high added value products from raw phosphate available in Jordan, Xinhua reported.
Jordanian Minister for Industry and Trade Hatem Halawani said the factory will help boost trade ties between Jordan and China.
He also underlined the importance of cooperation in the mining sector.
