Chinese shares open mixed on Tuesday

Chinese stocks opened mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.11 per cent, at 2,991.75 points.

The smaller Shenzhen index opened 0.11 per cent lower at 10,598.42 points, Xinhua reported.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was up 0.22 per cent to open at 2,253.69 points.
