Congress walks out of Manipur Assembly over Speaker's decision

The Opposition staged a walk out of the Assembly on Monday in protest after refused to allow a discussion on provisions of the Anti-Defection Law over MLA T. Shyamkumar becoming a in the BJP-led government.

MLA A. Mirabai, drawing the attention of the Speaker, said: "The Assembly is for the protection of the Constitution. But is it constitutional the way MLA T. Shyamkumar, elected from the Andro constituency, had crossed the floor?"
