Five people have been arrested and a rhino horn weighing over 800 grams was seized from them in West Bengal's Siliguri, a forest official said on Monday.
The arrests and the seizure were made on Sunday in an area under the Baikunthapur forest division.
"Acting on inputs, we intercepted a vehicle in which these five men were travelling. Upon searching, we recovered a rhino horn about 9 inches long and weighing over 800 grams. We arrested all the five people," Baikunthapur forest division ranger Sanjay Dutta said.
Dutta said the man were heading towards Mumbai where they had made a deal of selling the horn for over Rs.50 lakh.
