Challenging talismanic Delhi Dynamo forward Alessandro Del Piero, Atletico de Kolkata defender Denzil Franco Friday said he would be tough with the Italian world cup winner in the Indian Super League tie here Sunday.
"In the end, like him I am a player, we have two legs and two hands. I will tackle him just like I have been tackling others in various tournaments. I'll be very tough with him.
"Playing against him is a big challenge for us to prove the mettle of Indian footballers. Our defence has three Indian players - me, Arnab Mondal and Biswajit Saha. We are taking it as a challenge," said Franco on the eve of the Salt Lake stadium match.
ATK have won both their games, while DD drew their lung opener.
Franco said the I-League clubs should learn from the ISL.
"ISL is a platform for Indian football to reach the next level. What's happening in ISL needs to be followed."
On a high after the two victories that followed the side's 45-day training camp in Spain, Franco said "we have players from all over the world - the Czech Republic, to South Africa, to Spain. Everybody is working hard. We are gelling well. This is because of the camp in Madrid".
