IIEST Shibpur to reinforce student placement, internships

The Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, (IIEST) Shibpur, is taking steps to "overhaul the placements and internships" of its students, its director said on Wednesday.

"Keeping in view the urgent need for reinforcing the placement and training section, a selection committee comprising of a professor of IIT Kharagpur, a very senior head of TCS, two of our senior professors have selected two well qualified officers on temporary basis for our training and placement activities," IIEST Director A.K. Ray said in a Facebook post.

Ray said the institute has taken up the issue of internship "very seriously".

"I hope that our placements and internships will be further strengthened in future."
