Japan-India Parliamentarians' Friendship League team meets Modi

A delegation of Japanese parliamentarians met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Friday and extended support to his call for greater international cooperation against the global menace of terrorism.

The delegation of Japan-India Parliamentarians' Friendship League (JIPFL), led by Hiroyuki Hosoda of the Liberal Democratic Party and former Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Katsuya Okada, welcomed Modi's call for greater international cooperation against the global menace of terrorism, and for coordinated efforts to isolate the state sponsors of terrorism.

The delegation conveyed that there is strong bipartisan support in Japan for strengthening bilateral relations and welcomed the progress achieved in high technology cooperation, especially in high speed railway.

 

The Japanese team also conveyed its condolences for the victims of Sunday's cross-border terror attack in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir in which 18 soldiers were killed.
