Jharkhand women's panel chief seeks house under PMAY

Jharkhand Women Commission (JWC) chairperson Kalyani Sharan has applied for a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY).

She applied for the house under PMAY in the steel city Jamshedpur on Wednesday. "Today I am chairperson. Once I leave the post, I will become a common woman. I am trying to secure my life in old age," Kalyani Sharan told reporters. "At present I live in my brother's house in Jamshedpur".

She was appointed as chairperson of the commission in June 2017.

"As chairperson I have seen cases involving plight of women. If my son and daughter-in-law oust me from house, then what I will do in old age? I am trying to get a house to ensure my life does not pass through any trouble" she said.

 

The chairperson also said that she was not getting salary due to some technical reasons.
