Richie Benaud, an Australian Test great who nurtured a generation's love for the game with his commentary died in Sydney on Thursday night, Cricket Australia said. He was 84.
He had fought a long battle with skin cancer and had also suffered from the after-effects of a serious car accident near his Coogee home in a Sydney suburb in late 2013.
