Magnitude 6.6 quake hits Vanuatu

An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale jolted about 37 km west of Sola, Vanuatu, an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean, Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said.

The temblor which occurred at 16:03:30 GMT, had its epicentre, with a depth of 196.19 km, Xinhua reported.
