New daily 'Gangtok Times' launched in Sikkim

A new daily newspaper 'Gangtok Times' has ben launched here.

Published by Sikkim's lone Lok Sabha MP, P.D. Rai, Gangtok Times was so long a weekly that was started by his father C.D. Rai, a veteran journalist.

At the launch on Saturday, former MP from Sikkim and the state's ruling Sikkim Democratic Front spokesperson, Bhim Dahal hoped the new daily would be able to highlight apart from covering political developments.

Sonam Yangchen Lepcha has been appointed the editor of the daily.
