An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit China's Qinghai province on Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Centre.
The quake occurred at Yushu Tibetan prefecture in Qinghai, Xinhua news agency reported.
The epicentre was initially monitored at 32.85 degrees north latitude and 94.89 degrees east longitude.
