Retail inflation eases to 9.64 percent in July

India's annual retail inflation declined to 9.64 percent in July from 9.87 percent recorded in the previous month, government data showed Monday.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) based inflation eased sharply in rural area. For rural area retail inflation declined to 9.14 percent in July from 9.63 percent recorded in the previous month.
However, for urban areas CPI-based inflation rose to 10.26 percent in the month under review as compared to 10.13 percent recorded in the previous month, according to data released by the Central Statistics Office.
