At least seven soldiers were injured Monday when a roadside bomb hit a military vehicle in Yemen's Abyan province, a government official said.

The improvised explosive device struck a patrol vehicle of the 2nd Infantry Division on the coastal road of Ahwar in Abyan, leaving up to seven soldiers injured, Xinhua quoted the official as saying on condition of anonymity.

He accused Al Qaeda terrorist group of organising the attack against the military patrol, while no group has claimed responsibility for it so far.
