'Suicide Squad' director apologises for anti-Marvel chant

"Sorry about getting caught up in the moment," Ayer wrote on Twitter, reports variety.com.
"Someone said it. I echoed. Not cool. Respect for my brother filmmakers," he added.
The 2016 American superhero film based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name features an ensemble cast featuring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood and Cara Delevingne.
"Suicide Squad" is set to release on Friday.
