Tata Projects bag Rs 1,048 cr Mumbai Metro packages

on Friday said that its joint venture with Company (TPL-CHEC) has bagged two projects of Metro worth Rs 1,048 crore.

The company said it on Friday received the Letter of Award for constructing two packages of the Metro Elevated Line 4.

The packages lie on the line extending between Wadala and Kasaradavali. The combined value of both packages is Rs 1,048 crore and requires the to design and construct 14 elevated stations with a viaduct of 12.5 km. This project will improve connectivity with Thane, the Hyderabad-based Tata Projects said in a statement.

The project is challenging as it involves construction in highly congested locations as well as management of logistics for and erection of heavy girders.

Tata Projects has successfully completed a similar job in the National Capital Region with and is well accustomed to the required engineering techniques whilst possessing in-house best in class workforce to ensure safe and sound operations, it said.

"We are happy to contribute to Mumbai's transformation by building both underground and overground stretches of Metro," said Urban Infrastructure, Tata Projects.

This strengthens Tata Projects' metro portfolio in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region together with the on-going underground metro works in south Mumbai, he said, adding that the company is now executing 6 metro packages across the country.
