Three criminals, said to be from Rohit Chaudhary's gang, have been arrested for killing a gangster of a rival group near the Saket Court here while he was going towards a shopping mall after a court hearing, police said on Monday.

Badal, 27, Satender, 26, and Asfak Ahmed, 24, were accused of gunning down Prince near the Saket Court on May 6 amid an ongoing gang war.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Crime Branch headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Sandeep Lamba and Inspector Sunil Kumar initially arrested Badal from Khanpur village when he came to vote in the Lok Sabha elections on Sunday.

At his instance, his two accomplices were arrested from their hideouts in south Delhi, Deputy Commissioner of Police G. Ram Gopal Naik said.

"Four mobile phones and a bike used in the crime were recovered," Naik said.

During interrogation, Badal disclosed that Prince had abused and threatened Rohit Chaudhary. So the latter wanted to eliminate him.

"The gang twice attempted to attack Prince but he escaped, however this time the plan to eliminate him was made by Rohit Chaudhary. Badal along with his accomplices conducted a recce and was waiting for Prince outside the Saket Court," the officer said.

"When Prince and his accomplices came out of the court after attending his hearing and was on the road just 50 metres away from the Saket Police Station and Select City Mall, Badal and his accomplices chased him on the bike and started firing at him indiscriminately.

"Prince jumped into a drain to save himself but was finally gunned down," he added.

"The accused managed to escape by opening fire to create panic among passersby," he added.

A manhunt is on to nab five other criminals including Chaudhary.
