Employees of a private IT and tax consultant firm here were booked for cheating and duping a travel agency of over Rs 32 lakh, the police said on Friday.

Employees of the private company having its office in Gurgaon's DLF-2 area, including senior executive Geetika Raj and management consultant Michael Wekezer, have been booked for cheating.

A case under Sections 420 (cheating), 120B (hatching criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 66 D of the IT Act was registered at DLF-2 police station.

Amol Wadhwa, director of Lotus Travel Services, had lodged the complaint against the two with the police.

The accused reportedly hacked the e-mail ID's of the travel firm and collected money by booking tickets fraudulently.

"Case was registered after Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Gurgaon police conducted preliminary investigation and prima facie found the accused guilty," Inspector Sudhir Singh, officer investigating the case, told IANS.

He said the police have started further investigations.
