UN men withdrawn from Syrian side of Golan Heights

The United Nations (UN) has withdrawn its peacekeepers from the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, Xinhua quoted a UN spokesperson as saying Monday.

The UN statement cited the "exceptionally challenging environment" posed by armed rebel groups advancing on peacekeeping positions its observer force has held for close to four decades, CNN reported.
