Woman slits one-year-old daughter's throat, arrested

A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her one-year-old daughter by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon for constantly crying in a village in Madhya Pradesh, police said on Friday.

Anita was feeding her daughter on Wednesday afternoon in Talwadi Patelpura village here, when she got irritated by her constant crying and killed her, said C.B. Singh, station in-charge Khukshi police station.

A case has been registered against her and she has been arrested, he added.

Anita's relative Ranga Bai said she saw blood coming out of the room soon after the girl suddenly stopped crying.

Anita's husband Dal Singh was not in the house when the incident took place, police said.
